When the demons do come back we are given no warning about it and absolutely no explanation as to why. The event only effects this one woman and is somehow forgotten for the next 4 decades. It opens with a flashback scene to more than 40 years ago when a Rabbi, a Priest and an Iman come together to deal with some sort of demonic possession. What a stupid, horrible and pointless movie. This time two girls travel to Israel and one documents everything that they experience with Google glass even though, no one anywhere actually uses any such device. And as in each of those movies, the gimmick gets annoying after the first 20 minutes. This concept has already been knocked off a number of times in movies like “Cloverfield.” Every incarnation of the concept seems to be worse than the previous one and JeruZalem is no exception.
The Blair Witch Project was a pretty bad film itself, but at least it had an original idea: supposed actual events were filmed on a camcorder and the tape was discovered sometime later. Unfortunately, it is no more than yet another “The Blair Witch Project” rip off which goes nowhere. JeruZalem is a movie which pretends to be some sort of supernatural film about how demons are somehow awoken one night in the Holy City.
That element adds some novelty to the proceedings, as Sarah is able to take advantage of its built-in GPS when they get lost employ its facial recognition software to identify people and access their social media profiles and use its deadly ray gun technology to incinerate her attackers…just kidding about that last one.JeruZalem: Written and Directed by Doron and Yoav Paz Starring Yael Grobglas, Yon Tumarkin and Danielle Jadelyn. The filmmakers provide a nice twist to the exhausted found-footage genre by coming up with a reasonable explanation of why someone running for her life wouldn’t drop the damned camera and stop filming already. Demonic winged creatures and the occasional giant (the latter barely seen, but whatever) begin terrorizing the frantic populace and transforming them into hideous creatures themselves. That turns out to be not such a good idea, since shortly after their arrival-and several days of hitting the local nightspots, where they meet the friendly Omar (Tom Graziani)–the prophecy of the gate comes true and all hell literally breaks loose. On the plane heading overseas, the two women meet Kevin (Yon Tumarkin), a handsome young archaeologist who persuades them to ditch their plans and instead come with him to Jerusalem.
Sarah, still mourning the death of her older brother, has been gifted Google Glass eyewear (the trademarked name is never uttered) by her worried father for the trip. The plot concerns American best friends Sarah (Danielle Jadelyn), and fun-loving Rachel ( Yael Grobglas), who are traveling to Tel Aviv for a summer vacation.
